Spirit of the Gulf Membership Drive
| The first day of our membership drive was a great success! We had 19 new people come in and had a great time! If you are thinking about coming but weren't able to make it last night, no worries, it's not too late! Come and visit us Tuesday night at 7pm at the Church of the Cross, 13500 Freshman Lane in Fort Myers. We will have a blast!  |
Regional Competition 2023
Spirit of the Gulf recently competed in the Coastal Harmony Region 9 Convention on May 6, 2023.
We would like to congratulate all choruses and quartets that competed! We were honored to receive first place chorus, and our quartets Dynasty and Sirens! placed first and second respectively. See below for a video of the chorus performance. |
Halloween Fun
| Spirit celebrated Halloween with our annual costume contest! These ladies certainly got in the “spirit” of the evening with their fabulous costumes. Congratulations to our skeleton, geisha girl, Malificent, and Girl Scout, who were our grand prize winners! These ladies will enjoy a free dinner at our annual holiday party! |
International Chorus and Quartet Medalists

In September 2022, there was an International convention and contest held in Phoenix, AZ for all champion choruses and quartets from around the world. Spirit of the Gulf is thrilled to have received a medal for 5th place in the world, and our own quartet Duly Noted has received 7th place in the world! Singing Happy Birthday!
Mary Lamars, a former member of City of Palms chorus, was just absolutely delighted that Tamiami Sound Quartet came to sing Happy Birthday for her. Harmony Explosion Scholarships
The Sunshine District of the Barbershop Harmony Society sponsored Harmony Explosion, a weekend barbershop camp for young men and women of high school age June 16 - 18 at Stetson University. Spirit of the Gulf was delighted to offer scholarships to Ashley and Abby Buckley who are students at Cypress Lake High School. Members of the faculty included Rising Star and Regional quartet champions, Duly Noted, and music educator, Debbie Cleveland, shown below. |
